Electrical Contact Heater Plate for High Shrinkage Yarns
The TSP Electrical Contact Heater Plate Attachment enables high shrinkage textured yarn production on false twist texturing machines, without permanent modification to the original machine.
Depending on yarn type and process parameters, the attachment can achieve yarn shrinkage of 25% to over 30% at production speeds exceeding 500 m/min. The heater configuration and yarn path are selected to suit the required shrinkage and yarn quality.
Why Electrical Contact Heating?
Traditional vapour phase liquid heaters typically have a minimum operating temperature of 160°C. This limits their suitability for processes requiring uniform contact heating at lower temperatures.
The electrical contact heater plate delivers direct, uniform heat to the yarn, supporting controlled shrinkage and stable, repeatable processing conditions for speciality and value added yarn production.
Key Features and Specifications
Heater Plate Length
0.30 m to 0.75 m.
Operating Temperature
Ambient to 245°C.
Yarn Tracks
Two yarn tracks per heater.
Yarn Capacity
Each heater processes two yarns simultaneously.
Twist Stoppers
Integrated twist stoppers support the required yarn path.
Ceramic Yarn Guides
Ceramic guides are located at the heater exit.
Rotating Guides
Guides fitted above the input feed deflect the yarn towards the twist stopper.
Design and Installation
Clamp on Mounting
Heater plates clamp directly to the existing primary heater.
Original Machine Layout
Installation does not require permanent modification to the original machine.
Standard Yarn Threading
The attachment does not obstruct the operator when threading the standard yarn path.
Production Changeovers
Heaters can remain in place when processing standard products, supporting changeovers between standard and high shrinkage yarns.
Installation and Removal
The clamped arrangement allows straightforward installation and removal.
Cooling System Integration
Existing Cooling Components
The machine’s existing cooling tubes or tracks are reused.
Cooling Tube or Track Position
The input end is lowered in line with the exit of the heater plate.
Return to Standard Processing
Cooling tubes or tracks can be repositioned at their original location.
Typical Applications
High Shrinkage Yarns
Textured yarn production requiring high shrinkage levels.
Speciality and Technical Yarns
Speciality textured yarns and value added yarn developments.
Low Temperature Contact Heating
Processes requiring uniform, direct yarn heating below the practical operating range of the existing vapour phase heater.
Temperature Control
Heating conditions selected to suit the yarn and process requirements.
Machine Integration
Review mounting, controls and yarn path requirements for the existing machine.
Technical Support
Application guidance for installation, settings and performance evaluation.
