What Is Pin Twist Texturing?

Pin twist texturing guides yarn around a rotating pin within a spindle to insert twist. It remains an established process for speciality yarns where stretch, uniformity and careful handling of the filaments are priorities.

Consistent Yarn Quality

Controlled twist insertion supports an even texture and repeatable yarn properties.

Stretch and Comfort

The process produces high stretch yarns for stretch fabrics, apparel and technical textiles.

Fine and Sensitive Yarns

Careful control of the yarn path helps limit filament damage and preserve yarn strength and softness.

Process Selection

Pin texturing generally operates at lower production speeds than friction disc texturing. It is selected for applications where the required yarn characteristics justify that speed difference.

TSP Magnetic Pin Twister Upgrades

In traditional spindle arrangements, the relative positions of the input guide, magnet and exit guide are critical. Misalignment can cause yarn breaks and interrupt production.

Simplified Alignment

The TSP modification removes the need to align the input guide, magnet and exit guide individually, simplifying setup and helping reduce alignment related breaks.

Reduced Pin Related Damage

The revised design helps minimise damage caused by the pin during yarn breaks.

Lower Maintenance Costs

Simpler setup and reduced damage help reduce maintenance time, downtime and operating costs.

Production Efficiency

Improved process stability can support higher processing speeds while maintaining yarn quality, depending on the yarn and operating conditions.

Modern Magnetic Technology

Many existing pin twisting units use ferrite magnets to hold the twisting pin. TSP replaces these arrangements with modern magnetic technology to provide a stronger, more secure hold.

Stronger Pin Holding

Increased magnetic holding force improves pin retention compared with the traditional ferrite magnet arrangement.

Improved Process Stability

Secure pin holding and the revised component arrangement support stable, consistent operation.

Upgrade Existing Equipment

Modernise the magnetic spindle units while retaining the existing texturing machinery.

Built for Speciality Yarn Manufacturing

The upgrade is intended for manufacturers of premium and speciality yarns where elasticity, uniformity and yarn quality are central to the finished product. Applications include stretch fabrics, apparel and technical textiles.
